At Spirit Mountain’s Moosehead Saloon, our reception was transformed into a vibrant and eerie atmosphere, reminiscent of a Halloween night. The palette was dominated by the dark tones of black and orange, setting the tone for a spellbinding evening. As guests arrived, they were greeted with a costume contest that encouraged creative expression, as well as an unsettling yet delightful cobweb cake adorned with a fondant spider.
Every available surface was draped in thousands of intricately handmade bat decorations, casting long shadows across the room and adding to the overall sense of whimsical wonder.
What was your most important lesson learned?
When opting to hire friends, such as seamstresses, you can enjoy a similar cost-effectiveness while supporting local businesses. However, it’s crucial to establish clear expectations and deadlines in advance, potentially utilizing contracts to prevent misunderstandings. This approach allows for greater control over the process, but may sacrifice some of the spontaneity often associated with traditional weddings. Perhaps this is a trade-off for pursuing more personalized goals?
The absence of that ‘it’ll all work out on the wedding day’ feeling we’d heard about from others might be a byproduct of having unique expectations.
