A a laser tag reception
ChicagoGal’s innovative suggestion has us excited to share another unconventional yet thrilling dance alternative: a laser tag reception! For those with a local laser tag venue that can accommodate their guest list size, booking a few hours of non-stop fun and games is an excellent way to spice up the celebration. Imagine your guests engaging in hilarious pew-pewing matches or simply enjoying the excitement as they watch others have a blast.
Cads About Matrimony: The wedding game that doesn’t suck
Looking for a way to break the ice, wind down after the celebrations, or simply shake off wedding planning stress? Cads About Matrimony is here to help. This unique party game was born out of frustration with our quirky cultural norms surrounding love, marriage, and weddings – think satire and a healthy dose of humor. It’s the perfect companion to Offbeat Bride, offering a fresh spin on what can often feel like an overwhelming experience.
Whether you’re looking for a lighthearted activity or a chance to let loose, Cads About Matrimony is sure to bring some much-needed levity and joy to your celebration.
A LIP SYNC BATTLE reception
For karaoke enthusiasts, getting hesitant guests on board with a live singing reception can be a challenge. However, what if you could bring them in with a fun twist? Lip syncing has become increasingly popular, and for good reason. It requires confidence to let loose and show off your best moves without the need to sing. All it takes is a willingness to get creative and have fun – no singing skills required!
Offbeat-themed I-Spy scavenger hunt reception game
When it comes to keeping kids engaged at a reception, an I-Spy scavenger hunt can be a fantastic way to keep them entertained. But what if you’re looking to add a touch of personality and whimsy to your celebration? Why not create a custom list of items for the kids to find that reflect your unique wedding style or interests? For instance, instead of traditional options like ‘something blue’ or ‘champagne glasses’, you could have the kids hunt for items like Converse shoes or piercings.
This approach allows you to infuse the game with your own personality and make it a memorable part of your special day. And, if you’re looking for inspiration, we’ve got you covered with our free printable I-Spy scavenger hunt game.
Lawn games for outdoorsy fun
There’s something special about gathering around the lawn for a friendly game with friends and family. In our book, there’s no shortage of fun to be had with classic lawn games. Two of our absolute favorites are Giant Jenga and cornhole – the perfect combinations of strategy and socializing.
The RPG achievement game
Dean and Matt’s initiative yielded impressive results. On the back of each program, a list of video game-inspired achievements awaited completion, boasting creative names like ‘Blood Moon,’ ‘Rucks,’ or ‘To Our Hometowns.’ A large chalkboard provided detailed explanations for each achievement, accompanied by a custom stamp for participants to commemorate their finished programs.
In total, they had around 25 achievements, with some guests achieving an astonishing 15, far exceeding my initial expectations.
The “stand up/sit down game”
When bad weather got in the way of Jamie and Evan’s outdoor game-fest plans, they didn’t let it dampen their spirits. They quickly shifted gears to an indoor elimination game instead, with a tantalizing prize at stake. And thanks to photographer Craig Volpe, we have some fantastic photos to relive the excitement.
Rubik’s Cube competition
When the urge to dance doesn’t strike, couples can still celebrate their special moment with a unique and entertaining twist. Instead of hitting the dance floor, Amy and Jess opted for a friendly competition that tested their problem-solving skills and brought out their playful sides – a Rubik’s Cube battle! The excitement and laughter captured in the photo by Jody Burnett and Shannon Belletti perfectly encapsulate the joy and camaraderie shared between this newlywed couple.
