The occasion was beautifully captured through the lens of Empiria Studios. The dynamic duo behind the event was Caro and Colleen, who brought their unique flair to the proceedings. The setting for this memorable gathering was Kellerman’s Event Center in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where the festivities took place on April 23rd, 2022.
Our lesbian Dungeons and Dragons wedding at a glance:
Our special day, however, was an immersive adventure that reflected our shared passions for books, roleplaying games, puzzles, and escape rooms. We designed every aspect to mirror the excitement of embarking on a new journey together. From the moment guests arrived at our wedding website, they were transported into a video game world where our wedding party served as our party members.
I created most of the interactive experience in Unity, allowing us to share our story and personalities with loved ones. The head table decorations featured 3D-printed and hand-painted depictions of ourselves and our wedding party defending our town against an invading dragon – a testament to the idea that no one faces life alone. Our love for crafting and creativity also played a significant role in the wedding planning process.
I designed and created most of the visual elements, including save-the-date cards, invitations, menus, and more. The 3D-printed invites turned out stunning, and our friends and family appreciated the personal touch. To add an extra layer of meaning, we crafted all 14 centerpieces ourselves, each one representing a different aspect of our shared interests – from escape rooms to Fallout to Pokémon.
We also designed and created our bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, with the florist adding the finishing touches, as well as many pieces of jewelry. While it was an enormous effort, we both agreed that the outcome was worth every minute.
A lesbian wedding ceremony script about marriage as the greatest adventure
Caro and Colleen’s wedding celebration was more than just a union between two people – it was an invitation to embark on a lifelong adventure together. With this in mind, they crafted a ceremony script that captured the essence of their relationship, weaving in subtle nods to their shared passions. A Lord of the Rings reference added a touch of whimsy, while a heartfelt acknowledgement of their guests underscored the significance of the people who had gathered to share in their joy.

What was the most important lesson you learned from your wedding?
When planning a wedding, especially one that’s two years in the making, it’s essential to be willing to ask for help. Kyle and Blake, who are featured in our previous post about a redo wedding day, can attest to this. They had an amazing team of vendors who came together to give them a special day after their original photos were accidentally deleted. In reality, planning a wedding is a monumental task that’s best tackled with the support of loved ones.
For some couples, it’s an exciting process filled with creativity and decision-making. However, for others, it can be overwhelming and stressful. It’s crucial to remember that every partner has their own unique approach to wedding planning. Colleen, Kyle’s partner, loved him dearly but didn’t share the same enthusiasm for the planning process. She preferred brief, focused sessions with defined goals, whereas Kyle enjoyed the creativity and checklists.
To make it work, they established mini planning meetings with clear objectives and decisions, which helped Colleen’s mental health. Meanwhile, Kyle’s mom and bridesmaids were more than happy to indulge his passion for wedding planning. The key takeaway is to do what excites you about your own wedding. For some, that might mean getting creative with crafting or taking charge of the details. For others, it could be embracing a more relaxed approach and allowing loved ones to take the reins.
Ultimately, it’s essential to prioritize your partner’s needs and find a balance that works for both of you. In Kyle’s case, he learned to let go of his need to control every aspect of the wedding, including deciding the order of his bridespeople. By doing so, he found a sense of freedom and joy in the process.
