Fantasy For All: Our Favorite Lord Of The Rings Weddings With Bipoc Folks
As fans of J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth and its inhabitants, we often find ourselves drawn to the fantasy and adventure that Lord of the Rings has to offer. However, it’s not just the Elves and Dragons that capture our attention – it’s also the representation on screen that matters.
The recent release of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime has brought a new level of diversity and inclusion to the franchise, and we’re thrilled to see Black and Brown characters taking center stage. In many ways, this shift towards greater representation mirrors the lack of diversity we often see in mainstream wedding media.
For BIPOC folks who grew up loving fantasy, it’s all too common to feel like magical worlds were meant for white people – never truly feeling welcome or seeing ourselves represented on screen. But with the rise of BIPOC-led weddings and a growing desire for inclusivity in the wedding industry, we’re proud to celebrate this new era of representation. To mark this milestone, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite Lord of the Rings-inspired weddings featuring BIPOC newlyweds.
These couples have taken inspiration from Middle-earth’s epic battles, majestic landscapes, and timeless love stories – all while showcasing their unique cultural heritages and personal styles. As Marian Wright Edelman once said, ‘You can’t be what you can’t see.’ For my fellow BIPOC fantasy lovers, this is for you – a celebration of our shared passion for Middle-earth and our right to see ourselves represented in all aspects of life, including love and marriage.
Let’s see some Lord of the Rings weddings featuring BIPOC newlyweds!

Now let’s obsess over this Lord of the Rings-inspired wedding by the beach.
In a bewitching ceremony on Halloween-esque grounds, the couple’s love story unfolded like a fantasy novel. The bride stood out in an ensemble that would make Tolkien proud, donning her ‘One Ring’ and an Elven crown, paired with a stunning black dress reminiscent of medieval finery. Meanwhile, the officiant, Helga Stewart, made a bold statement with her mixed headpiece featuring florals and feathers – a true masterpiece.
As it happened, I had designed the show-stopping floral arrangement that would serve as the ‘shield’ for this unforgettable celebration. And the best part? I had no idea of the theme until I arrived on set. The result was nothing short of perfection, perfectly capturing the essence of their love story.
